Our Junior section is around 150 strong with children as young as 8 able to train and compete for the club. The junior section which covers ages up to 20 years old compete in track, field and cross country events throughout the year and are supported by specialist coaches who will work on the individuals needs ranging from technique, endurance, throwing or jumping whilst instilling the importance of team-ship.
The aim is for our members to have fun while developing their athletic ability in a variety of events.

Signing in for training
U16 athletes (or parents) will be expected to register themselves/child in the club room at Eastbourne before training and will be cross refenced to those members who have paid their subscription for the year. In accordance with England Athletics this is a safeguarding rule which athletes and parents must adhere to.
Please note, only fully paid up members will be able to train with the club, the only exception will be anyone having a trial period (the trial period would be for a maximum of 4 weeks). This will ensure that the coaches will be dedicating their efforts to those who are contributing to the club.
The club is always looking our for parents to support their children at training and events. This could be raking the sand pit, putting the high jump bar on or putting out equipment such as hurdles.
If you can support even in some small way please reach out to Claire.
Darlington Borough Council, in partnership with ourselves, have set up a community based athletics club which will cater for those children in Years 3 & 4 who want to experience athletics. This session is on a Saturday morning which started on 2 July 2016. Sessions are from 10.00 -11:00 and the cost is £3 per session.
This will provide a pathway for these younger children to turn move upto the Thursday night group when they move into year 5 in September. At this time they can then decide whether they want to join a club.
