Paul Harker, again in action this time where the Harriers won the XC at Cockermouth and Blaydon relays.

During the 80's the junior girls section won the national cross country under 17 womans team race at carlisle in 1982, as well as the under 15 girls team won AAA NATIONAL ROAD RELAYS 1983,1986 and 1989 the under 13 girls also won the AAA ROAD RELAYS in 1989.


The junior girls also won the AAA 4 X 800M  national track championship at Birmingham all under the the great coaching and dedication of Wally Lawson.

Bernadette Caygill in one of her earlier outings for the Harriers, battling it out with long term rival, Angie Foster of Morpeth, at the Good Friday road race in Elswick.

Another Harrier legend of the 1980's was Brian Lee.  Lee was a strong distance runner at the club who put in some fantastic performances from 1982-85 mainly but not exclusively in the longer events.
