On Sunday morning, Alison Matthews headed up north to Ponteland to compete in the 10 mile race.Alison battled through the high winds to finish 2nd lady in around 67 minutes to pick up yet more silverware.Awesome work Ali.Emma Robinson competed in the Lee Mills Relay’s on Sunday as part of a team of 4 taking on a tough fell course over a 10k course. No details have been released as yet so more details on Emma’s exploits and confirmation of Ali’s result next week.
On the afternoon at a wet and windy Croft, the next NYSD Cross Country Race which was due to take place was cancelled due to high winds. With heavy rain fall and high winds on Saturday even the eternal optimists weren’t convinced that Sunday would be much better and that unfortunately proved to be the case.On a positive note that does give the senior teams the opportunity to get some of their runners back for the next race who were going to be missing.
